- The Boulder Microfinance Training Program, Sponsored by ILO International Training Centre - Turin, Italy, 21 Jul 2007 - 8 Aug 2008The 14th annual Boulder MFT will be held again this year in Turin, offering a complete range of courses in English and in French. The program brings together professionals from all around the world for three weeks of dynamic debate and exchange. Boulder MFT is hosted by the ILO's International Training Centre, in a world-class facility on a beautiful campus. Affectionately known as ‘the Boulder program,’ the MFT is a pioneer in intensive ‘best practice’ training with an alumni network of over 2,200 practitioners. We strive to provide an unparalleled learning environment within a rich community of leaders from across the field of microfinance.
Courses offered will include an emphasis on ‘best practice’ program design issues as well as specific tools to achieve long-term financial sustainability and growth. Attendance is required for the entire three weeks to ensure participants receive the depth and breadth of experience conveyed by the MFT diploma.
- Integrating Microfinance in Development - September 1 - 5 2008, Sussex, UK
The training program hosted by Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex is offered to development professionals and specialists in Agriculture, Health, Education or Livelihoods who need to understand microfinance for their work. It is a short intensive program that will explore the role of microfinance in the lives of poor families, identify where and when it can be effective and understand how to fit it into development programming. The most experienced academics, researchers, practitioners and policy advisers associated with the Institute of Development Studies and the Boulder Institute of Microfinance, during the one week will offer their expertise in microfinance and development.

- Financial Institutions for Private Enterprise Development: Micro and SME Finance in Theory and Practice - 17 Aug 2008 - 29 Aug 2008, Harvard University, Cambridge, MAFinancial Institutions for Private Enterprise Development (FIPED), organized by Harvard Kennedy School, is an intensive two-week executive education program, a practical guide to the sustainable provision of financial services for low-income households and micro, small and medium enterprises. The program covers microfinance and SME finance in the same program. It consists of core lectures, applied cases and practical exercises. Participants will undertake a structured series of intense negotiations via a set of role playing scenarios.

The Summit will be the 12th conference in a series of global and regional summits organized by the Microcredit Summit Campaign. Over 1,000 delegates from more than 40 countries are expected to gather for the Summit.

“Microfinance -10 Years of Best practice”
Azerbaijan Micro-finance Association (AMFA) will be organizing 2-days 4th Azerbaijan Micro-finance Conference titled “Microfinance-10 years of Best practice” at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Baku, Azerbaijan, on September 16-17, 2008. This Bi-annual Conference will be focused on discussion of best practice & challenges faced by microfinance practitioners, benchmarking microfinance performance, offering learning opportunities on innovative products in microfinance and provision of broad opportunities to access to private and social capital investors.
The Conference is expected to be opened by high level Government Officials of Azerbaijan such as Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the National Bank of Azerbaijan and Chairman of the State Parliament commission on Economic Issues.
