Southern New Hampshire University (formerly New Hampshire College) holds an annual Microenterprise Development Institute training program for microfinance professionals. The program is dedicated to building both financial and social capital, and to helping practitioners to find a balance between these two important aspects that will stimulate sustainable growth.
Ohio State’s renowned Rural Finance Program, home of the DevFinance email listserve and a participant in the Microfinance Best Practices project, also offers a M.S. and a Ph.D. in agricultural, environmental and development economics.
